Meat not inspected in Maqellara
05/05/2014 00:00
Hygienic inspections for the meat trading procedures have started
throughout the country. However, no one seems to know in Maqellara that
animals should not be slain on the roadside.
On holidays, the roads of this commune are full of animals that are being slain without any hygienic conditions or veterinary inspection. Residents gather in the Maqellara commune to buy meat, and none of the respective authorities do anything about this.
Diber is known for a high number of cattle, and there have been even some reports about brucellosis. Several slaughterhouses have been built around the area, but they are not functional, while veterinary inspectors are nowhere to be seen.
