The Tala pumping stations should be in full capacity, but this has not happened yet and chances are it will not start soon.
This makes the need to intervene even more urgent. This is the conclusion reached even by the Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, after inspecting the Lezhe Fields.
“We have contracted and we are expecting soon a very powerfull pump, which will bring the capacity within the required technical paramters”, Panariti declared.
The Minister of Agriculture appealed the local administration leaders to help the drainage system by opening second and third canals.
“The pumping stations need not only to be in full functionality, but the communes that administer the drainage canals should also complete the supplement works”, Panariti declared.
The work started for the reconstruction of the Tala pumping station should had been over by November 2012, but even today it works with a very low capacity, making it impossible to handle the heavy rains.
