The US Senator, John McCain, advised Kosovo to take all necessary
actions for progress. During his visit at the Kosovo Parliament, which
is expected to vote the border demarkation with Montenegro, McCain spoke
about his ties with Albanians, saying that his daughter was adopted
after his wife visited Bangladesh, by request of the Mother Theresa
saint, who asked them to help two sick girls at the orphanage.
“Kosovo has made progress, but there is still a lot to do. The USA will be with you with the future challenges. As an old friend who wants to see Kosovo progress, I want to share with you the challenges the hopes for a better future. The signing of the Stabilization-Association Agreement was a success. I share President Thaci’s opinion that the ratification of the border demarkation with Montenegro and the Visa liberalization will show an important step towards the European future”, the Senator added.
“MC Cain, a former military and important member of the new American administration, as regards security, said that the army of Kosovo can be formed only with Constitutional amends.
“Personally, I will do everything possible to guarantee US support for the security of Kosovo. The security of Kosovo is tied to the USA and NATO in a long term, and also with other international partners, who share democratic values of the rule of law. Hence, it is important to do this through Constitutional amends. This is a sovereign decision that can be brought only by the people of Kosovo”, McCain added.
McCain met with the Kosovo Parliament Speaker, Kadri Veseli, and Prime Minister Isa Mustafa. The Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, will honor him this Friday with the Freedom Order.
