Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inaugurated the start of the construction work the new neighborhood in the “5 Maji” area of Tirana, where will be settled a part of the families, whose houses were severely damaged by the November 2019 earthquake.
Mayor Veliaj said that today begins the construction of the first 1000 apartments, as 1 thousand families will be accommodated.
“I want to thank all those who have made it possible, starting with the Prime Minister of Albania, the Minister of Reconstruction, all those who work daily in the community, as today we announce the construction of 11 new buildings, the first 1000 apartments, which will continuously accommodate those affected by the earthquake.
“We will continue, along with the Albanian government, to pay regularly all the rent bonuses for all those who have left the apartments that will have to be demolished, to make room for this new construction site and new apartments “, explained Veliaj.
