Mayor Erion Veliaj and Socialist MP Fatmir Xhafaj visited today the new kindergarten in Unit 10 in the Albanian capital, which brings to 109 the total number of new kindergartens and kindergartens opened in the capital in 9 years.
Veliaj said that the opening of new educational institutions will continue in other areas of Tirana, with a focus on the “Rilindja” neighborhood on the Grand Ring Road.
“I am glad that we freed up this space and built it from scratch. For us, this is the 109th kindergarten or kindergarten that we open in Tirana. For someone it may seem like a statistic, but when you think that each of them is a great hearth, which has brought an extraordinary contribution to the community”, he said.
The Mayor assured that support for Albanian families will continue to grow. He announced that the municipality will continue to budget for new nurseries and kindergartens, while pensioners will travel for free on public transport from January 1. Also, starting next September, all students will have free meals in Tirana schools. Veliaj added that the standards offered by public nurseries and kindergartens, such as in food, hygiene, lighting and the modern “Reggio Emilia” education methodology, are comparable even with private institutions.
