The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, is attending the annual Forum for Cities and the Future in Munich, Germany, where he said that part of Tirana’s success came from its citizens, who encouraged a series of important initiatives for the city.
“I am very proud for Tirana. We were chosen as a model city, this time at the annual forum of German architecture, organized by the Ministry of Urban Development in Bavaria. I am proud not only because the Municipality has done its job, but because part of our success is dedicated to the citizens of Tirana, who encouraged the days without cars, pedestrian areas, planting of trees and a cleaner city”, Veliaj said.
He added that there is no city in Europe where citizens are as focused on cleaning, tree-planting and taking care of public areas, bicycle lanes, etc.
The Mayor guaranteed that this year they will focus more on Tirana’s new areas, such as Kashar, the Unaza e Re, Dajti and Selita.
