The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, attended the “Vienna Salutes Tirana” activity, where he confirmed that the National Theater will not be a project with a high-rise tower.
“I have good news today. We have already taken the decision and it is no longer a secret. Tirana will have a modern national theatre, without any high-rise tower above it. It will be one of the best in Europe and we are determined to develop the project in a record time. I promise publicly that in cooperation with the Albanian government, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Culture and all fans, we will have a national theatre that is unprecedented in Europe”, Veliaj declared.
The Mayor said that same as all other good projects, it requires patience and cooperation from everyone.
“What you will watch today on the scene, starting from Inva Mula and every other talent, is a product of people who do things with patience, who try hard to make history, no hysteria. With the Skanderbeg Square, the New Market and the Artificial Lake Playground, we have always had loud debates with huge projects, people fighting each other, and yet today they are wonderful products. We are proud that we will be able to create wonderful things, things that can be done only through cooperation, never if we work alone”, Veliaj said.
