The Tirana Marathon will be held this Sunday, with 2500 registered runners from 40 different countries of the world.
One of the participants will also be the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
Tonight’s guest on Top Channel’s “Top Show”, Veliaj said that he has been training for the past three months to break his own record of one year ago.
“I run every morning, mainly at the Artificial Lake. My goal this year is to complete the marathon for less than one hour, breaking my own record of last year, which was 75 minutes”, Veliaj said.
The Mayor added that the marathon is a good way to promote the city: “We will have participants from Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Ethiopia and many other countries. Many of them compete to win prizes”, Veliaj said.
