Mayor of Pogradec resigns

The Mayor of Pogradec, Artan Shkembi, resigned from his duty after
leading the city for three electoral terms. His resignation comes four
months before the elections of June 21st.

“I chose this day to tell everyone that I resign, because I want to free the path of a new candidate for continuing my job. I do not want to hamper or influence anyone in this important eection, especially when the new municipality has more responsibilities and challenges to face.

On the same time, I want to give a modest message of gratitude and responsibility to my political force. This could serve to the hundreds of mayors who were voted thanks to the support of the SP and who will not be able to run anymore”, Mayor Shkembi declared.
