The mayor of Lushnja, Fatos Tushe, was arrested today as a result of an operation by the special prosecuton office SPAK, accused of corruption in a tender worth 24 million ALL, for the construction of an irrigation canal on the outskirts of Lushnja.
It is learned that investigations into this affair began in July 2020.
Among the 11 arrested, along with Mayor Fatos Tushe are two company administrators. Ibrahim Lami, administrator of the company Loti sh.p.k and Bujar Murati, administrator of the company Euro Alb sh.p.k. Fatos Tushe, is suspected of abuse of office in the context of an investigation launched in July 2020, for violations of equality in tenders.
The investigation also includes 10 other people, most of whom are officials of the public property enterprise in the Municipality of Lushnja. Among them is the director of the state enterprise Flamur Peqini, also suspected of abuse of office and violation of the equality of participation in tenders or public auctions.
