Police has arrested the Mayor of the Kamza Municipality, Xhelal Mziu,
after an arrest issued by the Tirana Prosecution Task Force.
The Court had given the security measure for the Mayor and after this decision, at 18:00, the police executed the arrest order.
Mziu is accused of power abuse in his private residence, where the police searched for documents.
The Tirana Prosecution has issued an arrest order also for another high-rank official of this Municipality. There are suspicions of illegal procedures with the “Valias I Ri – Laknas” road tender.
The public procurement commission had found winner a company that was disqualified by the procurement commission of the municipality. Investigations started after the complains made by the company, which resulted with suspicions for corruption.
