The street near the house, where the young Klodian Rasha was killed in Tirana, officially took his name.
The proposal was made a few days ago by mayor Erion Veliaj.
It is reported that a few days ago, at the end of December, Veliaj visited Klodian’s house again, where he symbolically handed a copy of the road sign with the name of the street to his father, Qazim.
The latter has also expressed a desire to plant a lime tree in memory of his son.
Klodian Rasha was killed by police officer Nevaldo Hajdaraj in the early hours of December 8. The victim was spotted by the police patrol during coronavirus lockdown hours, while after a chase by Hajdaraj, the latter opened fire leaving him dead on the spot.
The event has brought strong reactions in the country. Minister of Interior Sander Lleshaj resigned, while for several days thousands of young people rose in violent protests to demand justice for the state police brutality.
