May 1st in Albania is not a holiday or a day for protest any more. The
number of those who get organized to protest for more jobs and more
rights, has been reduced from year to year.
The only ones who commemorated this day, were the nostalgic communist groups. They marched on the boulevard, even with portraits of Albania’s former dictator, Enver Hoxha.
While for the workers of the Green Space Maintenance, this May 1st was a Sunday, but still a usual day of work.
