Massive pilgrimage at Laç Church on Saint Anthony of Padua day

Thousands of pilgrims visited the Laç Church today, the popular name for the Saint Anthony of Padua Church.
The ritual has continued for 13 Tuesdays. It culminates in midnight, while it enters its 13th day of pilgrimage.
The last day finds many people, not only Catholic devotees, sleeping inside the church and around it.
Citizens from all over Albania and even from abroad go to the church to pray and to pass the entire night there, until the first hours of June 13th, which is the Saint’s Day that is respected in Albania by all religions.
The hill near the city of Lac will be filled with pilgrims this midnight, who have turned sleeping overnight into an important tradition. Police has taken measures to guarantee safety and to limit traffic.
