Shemsi Prenci, Head of Civilian Emergency, says 80% of the Albanian territory is endangered by fires.
Prenci wants more commitment from the local government to now allow fires sources to get reactivated.
“The fire in Berat was activated again. I appeal the local government, mainly fire fighters, to work carefully with individual back-pack water pumps and shovels, so that fires are not reactivated”, Prenci said.
The Civilian Emergency asked local government to inform real-time about fires, while two helicopters will patrol the entire territory.
