Thousands of small businesses throughout the country have been fined by
the Tax Electronic System for not handing over the employment
application. This is about businesses that have only one person
employed, the administrator.
The Tax Office say despite being registered, these businesses also had to hand over the declaration of employers at the Tax Office, that’s why they have been fined with 10.000 ALL.
But businesses have complained throughout the country while the Taxpayer Lawyer has already started the investigations. Sources said for Top Channel that they are negotiating a solution. However, the administration say there is no room to pardon the fines, since they are sanctioned by law.
The Taxpayer Lawyer will ask the Tax Directory to repeal the fines based on article 59 of the Business Registration Office, which says that the registration at the BRO makes a business automatically registered at the Social Insurance and the Employment Inspectorate, automatically.
Sources have said for Top Channel that the law has fined thousands of people who declare a minimal annual turnover, mainly vendors, who have no knowledge on tax laws.
