Mass for Amik Kasoruho

Relatives, friends and politicians gave the final goodbye to the famous Albanian writer and translator, Amik Kasoruho.

The mass was held at the “Saint Lucia” catholic church in Durres, by Father Gjergj Meta.

The funeral then continued to the old cemetery of Durres, where Kasoruho spent the most important years of his life, before immigrating to Italy.

He died at 82, after a pulmonary disease. He was honored as the intellectual who experienced a series of sufferings from the communist dictatorship.

Amik Kasoruho was born in Tirana in 1932, and is author of “Nje Ankth Gjysmeshekullor”, “Cmimi i Nje Endrre”, “Midis Qiellit dhe Burgut” and the autobiographic book “Ikje nga Trilli I Perendive”.

He translated several foreign authors, such as Isabel Alende, Pirandelo, Harold Robins, John Selby, etc.
