The process of mass vaccination with the newly arrived Chinese vaccine will start tomorrow in “Skënderbej” square i Tirana, starting with the elderly over 70 years old, who are notified by the respective health centers in alphabetical order.
In the area of ”Skënderbej” preparations have begun for the erection of several tents that will serve as vaccination points. The armed forces will also be present during the vaccination process with the Chinese Sinovac vaccine.
So far, 192 thousand doses of the Sinovac vaccine have been received, while according to the government’s objectives it is expected that 1.2 million Albanians will be vaccinated within the month of June.
But according to data over 62 thousand Albanians have already been vaccinated, which includes medical staff, teachers and the elderly over 80 years.
The vaccination of teaching staff with the AstraZeneca vaccine continues in 4 educational institutions, the University of Arts, the University of Agriculture, the University of Medicine and the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
From Friday the first doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik started being administered for the elderly.
