The Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI), on Albania’s national day dedicated to martyrs, visited the statue of Qemal Stafa in Tirana.
Leaders of the party placed wreaths on his statue.
The vice leader of the party, Luan Rama, said that May 5th is the day of national memory for the great sacrifice made by the Albanian people in the fights to defend their country.
Qemal Stafa was one of the founders of the Communist group in Shkoder, one of the three groups that later formed the Albanian Communist Party in November 8th 1941. He was executed by the Italian occupying forces in May 5th 1942, when he was only 22.
