March 7, 1887, the opening of the first Albanian language school, marked a journey of 137 years, in memory of the day for the recognition and honoring of the figure of teachers.
“The emotion is indescribable. The teacher does not have the duty of daily dedication to the students, this is a mission”, says Etleva Hysenaj, the director of the Dora D’istria school.
On days like these, it is the students who take all the care to make their teachers happy.
“Teachers are like a candle, they consume themselves to illuminate us. So today we wish you to be smiling,” said a student at the 9-year school Dora D’istria in Tirana.
Flowers, gifts and even small performances were organized by the students for their teachers.
“Two events are my dearest, one at school and the other at home; one of the teacher, the other of the mother. Happy March 7th”, the teacher wished, referring to March 7th and 8th.
The students’ care for the teachers is very detailed, thinking about gifts and the needs of their tutors.
“We bought the teacher a computer. We decided together with the parents’ council”, said the interviewed students.
A special congratulations came from the choir of the artistic lyceum and other the students of the capital’s schools, who performed the song known as “Teachers’ Anthem”, as a dedication to them.
