Many tributes for the death of the beloved Albanian actor Mirush Kabashi

President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama were among the many personalities who today paid tribute to the late Albanian actor Mirush Kabashi, who passed away yesterday at the age of 74.

“Farewell to the artist who kept the love for art alive in us and lifted the weight of the halls everywhere he performed! Farewell “Honour of the Nation”, Mirush Kabashi”, writes President Begaj.

While the speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, says that Albanians will remember him for his work and legacy.

“The Honored Artist Mirush Kabashi passed away today. But Albanians will remember him for his work and legacy. With his talent and over a hundred characters he created on stage and on the screen, Mirush Kabashi made us think, reflect, often even laugh, about the big problems of society. Rest in peace, our great and unforgettable Master!”, writes Nikola.

The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, expressed his condolences for the death of Mirush Kabashi:

“Sad news about the death of the great actor of the stage, a rare performer of poetry, actor Mirush Kabashi. GOODBYE to the great Mirush!”, writes Veliaj.

Former prime minister, Sali Berisha, considered Mirush Kabashi a stage genius, while adding that he was the most powerful performer of poetry.

“Dear friends, Mirush Kabashi, the King of the Albanian stage and film closed his eyes forever. Art, the theatre and the nation are in mourning today. Mirush Kabashi entered Albanian art as a phenomenon who, with his skills and rare talent in the interpretations in films and theater of over 100 characters in the works and masterpieces of Albanian and world authors, would quickly become the most beloved artist for the Albanian public, but also many appreciated by the international one. Unattainable in all roles, but culminating and immortal with the “Apology of Socrates”, Mirush Kabashi was also the most powerful interpreter of poetry. He was a staunch supporter of the opposition and democracy in Albania”, Berisha writes, among other things.
