Manjani: New project for the Bank

The vice leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ylli Manjani,
declared in an interview for Top Channel that there’s no blasphemy in
having a foreign Governor to lead the Bank of Albania, arguing this with
the history of the governors in the past.
“Since 1925, when the Bank of Albania was founded, all governors have had serious problems with the law. Only Qirjako, Mihajli and Shkelqim Cani concluded a mandate without problems. All others have been arrested or escaped. This means that this institution has a credibility problem that doesn’t come because of the lack of professionalism, but due to credibility”, Manjani declared.
Manjani says that more important than the name of a Governor is starting a new project.
“This is time to promote a project that has nothing to do with the name of a new governor, but it should be about the eurofication of the Albanian economy, making a twinning with an European Bank and building a project under the supervision of the European Bank, if possible. We shouldn’t see it as just a new name, but as a project that will start in Albania sooner or later”, Manjani declared.
