Man detained with 863.000 EUR in cash and former Minister Tahiri’s licenses

The Court of Elbasan left in prison Orest Sota, detained a few days ago with 863.000 EUR and two licenses for driving sailing vessels, under the name of former Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri.
Sota was accused of money laundering and hiding his revenues. He is also accused of resisting to the appeals of a police officer, after he refused to have his vehicle searched, although he was driving without a license.
Sota said that the money would be used to buy steel from the Kurum company. As for the licenses, he said they may have been left there by Tahiri’s driver, who is a friend of his.
The Elbasan Police are investigating Sota’s activity.
