The Deputy Minister of Interior, Elona Gjebrea, declared that thanks to a
cooperation between the Albanian police and other countries, they have
intensified the fight against the drug traffic and have seized
quantities as never before. “Those who protest, have been involved in
these traffics”, Gjebrea declared.
“During April 2014 we seized 357% more drugs than the same period of one year ago. The State Police is determined to not be discouraged by the pressure coming from the real authors of this absurd situation.
The cooperation with our strategic partners has reached good levels, which has been confirmed by the police directors of these countries and their diplomatic representatives in Albania.
We are determined to remove Albania from the black list of drug cultivation, where we found it. But we will not leave it there anymore, because Albania’s place is not there where it was left by those who protest today against this government. Its place is by the side of the other countries of the European family”, Gjebrea declared.

“Government takes no measures, only attacks opposition”
But for the DP, the Albanian drug is occupying Europe and the government is not doing anything, while the Prime Minister is attacking the opposition.
“The government is reporting itself each day as part of the drug cartel and is not taking any measure, is not giving any explanation and is not giving any responsibility. All they do is attacking the opposition. Thousands of kilograms of Albanian drugs is seized each day in European countries, and yet the government attacks the opposition”, declared the Democratic MP, Voltana Ademi.
