After the decision of the Constitutional Court, which considered the
creation of the National Bureau of Investigation as illegal, the
majority seems determined to create the new investigation structure
against the organized crime and corruption.

The Socialist Movement for Integration MP, Spartak Braho, said they would use any other legal opportunity to establish the bureau. The opposition reacted by saying this is another indicator of the efforts that this majority is doing to make a Putin-like Albanian government.

Both political parties have different opinions about the decision of the Constitutional Court.

“Although this initiative had strong support by the international community, even in the meeting of the Albanian Foreign Minister with the US State Secretary, the Constitutional Court rejected it”, MP Braho declared.

“Rama cannot continue with his strategy to turn Albania into a country similar to Putin’s Russia. What Rama did with the so-called Bureau aims only to put under control the other judiciary institutions”, declared the Democratic MP, Edi Paloka.

However, the majority will continue with the National Bureau of Investigation, a structure that according to them would make the fight against corruption and organized crime even more efficient. According to the opposition this shows that the rule of law is not being implemented.

“This decision will not stop the majority from going to the end of this issue. The National Bureau will be created”, Braho added.

“The Albanian people are seeing each day that the law and the Constitution is not being respected. This will bring an early end to you”, Paloka declared.
