Majlinda Bregu voted RCC Secretary General: “We won together”

The Democratic Party MP, Majlinda Bregu, announced on Facebook that she was voted as General Secretary of the Regional Cooperation Council for a term from 2019 to 2021.
Bregu thanks the European Union, the European Parliament and the European Popular Party, which she calls “my political family”.
She says that her candidacy received a convincing number of votes, making her the first Albanian leading such a high executive position.
The RCC mission aims to increase cooperation between South-Eastern European countries and their headquarters is in Bosnia.
Bregu was running against the Montenegrin Luksic. She also gives a friendly thanks to the Albanian Foreign Minister.
“Our political orientations are different, but our European approach is the same, together with the effort to work in favor of Albania. It will be a difficult challenge, but sometimes difficult is better”, she said.
