Majko in Turkey: “Albania’s relations with the Diaspora will be sanctioned by law”

The Minister of State for the Diaspora, Pandeli Majko, met with the Albanian community in Turkey, where there are around 1000 Albanian students.

Present in the center that organizes many cultural activities there were representatives of Albanian associations, such as “Vatra” and “Cameria”, students and professionals who had arrived from other Turkish cities, such as Istanbul and Izmir.

There are 4 Albanian associations in Izmir which have raised a centre for learning Albanian. The Albanian Diaspora there is engaged to publish books and open Albanian language channels.

At the Albanian Culture Center in Ankara, there are Albanian language courses twice a week. The structure is frequented by other students as well, members of the Union of Albanian Students in Ankara.

Minister Majko congratulated the Diaspora for the work done so far, and said that it can be taken even forther, by building structures and organizations that will sanction the relations of the Albanian state with the Diaspora by law.

He informed the participants on the cooperation with the government of Kosovo to preserve the Albanian Diaspora as one.
