The Albanian Minister of State for the Diaspora, Pandeli Majko, left the Parliament room just before the majority was voting for the law that allows the demolition of the National Theater.
Both Rama and Majko seemed agitated in a conversation they held away from microphones, but not from the eye of the cameras.
According to other MPs who were there, Rama has told Majko: “Don’t play games with me. If you don’t want to vote, go home.”
After this, Majko takes the phone, responds to a call and leaves the parliament. The Minister didn’t respond to Top Channel’s enquiry either.
Majko has had another confrontation with Edi Rama in 2002, when Rama, then Mayor of Tirana, wanted to demolish the national theater. Majko was Prime Minister and he refused Rama’s plan.
“About the National Theater, I accept comments only from those politicians who have done more than me. Rather than making comments, they should watch the drama of 1991, ‘The Visit of the Old Madam’”, he wrote.
