After the Macedonian President, Gjorgje Ivanov, insisted to not mandate
the opposition leader, Zoran Zaev, to form the new government of
Macedonia, the “Megaphone Initiative” started an online petition
demanding his resignation.
Initiative says President Ivanov violated the Constitution and is pushing the country towards destabilization, blocking this way a peaceful power rotation.
The President of Macedonia didn’t change his stance even after the latest visit of a high-level EU official, President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, who clearly stated that he should behave like a real statesman and authorize the new parliamentary majority.
Ivanov chose to reiterate his accusations for meddling with Macedonia’s internal matters and said that Tirana’s platform is damaging inter-ethnic relations by demanding constitutional amends and by manipulating people with matters outside the Ochrid Agreement.
