Macedonia, parliament votes Albanian as second language among harsh reactions

Macedonian MPs approved the law that allows Albanian to become second official language, with 64 votes in favor and none against.

The amendments of the VMRO-DPMNE have not been reviewed at all.

The voting came after some tension between the opposition MPs, as former VMRO leader, Nikolla Gruevski, walked towards Speaker Talat Xhaferri after he started the session immediately with the language law, avoiding the amendments of the VMRO.

Gruevski has been seen throwing a glass of water towards Xhaferi, who demanded a 15-minute pause.
