The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Nikolla Rilkovski, did
not comment about the decision of the opposition party, LSDM, which
decided to not recognize the parliamentary and presidential elections of
April 27th.

According to Rilkovski, the elections of this Sunday from the technical and organizational aspect have been successful. However, he said that the final evaluation will be given after 48 hours will have passed without a complaint.

“The CEC cannot come alone in this moment with an official evaluation. We must see if the political parties will use their right to complain in the next 48 hours, so that we can have a clear image of how the elections were held. Only after deciding about the complaints we might give a final evaluation. As regards the decision of the LSDM, this is a political issue and I don’t want to give any comment”, declared Nikolla Rilkovski, chairman of the Central Election Commission.

The biggest opposition party in Macedonia, the Social-Democratic League of Macedonia, declared that they do not recognize the election results due to frequent manipulations and pressures against voters by Prime Minister Nikolla Gruevski. The LSDM leader, Zoran Zaev, appealed for the creation of a technical government which would organize free and fair elections.

“We ask urgently for the creation of a technical government that will enable free and fair elections in our country. The government has stolen the votes. Every article of the electoral law has been violated. In these conditions, the government is controlling its people. Without free and fair elections there is no democracy. Without democracy there is no prosperity in Macedonia. We will not stop. Our battle continues”, Zaev declared.

Different from the LSDM in opposition, the Macedonian ruling party, VMRO-DPMNE, considered the elections of this Sunday as regular and correct.

“The Republic of Macedonia is a positive example for the entire region. The elections of this Sunday could have been better than in some Scandinavian countries. This is a victory for Macedonia and its citizens. On the other hand, it is a loss for anyone who tried to manipulate it or create incidents”, declared Antonio Milloshovski, from the VMRO-DPMNE.

The electoral process is not recognized by the Albanian Party in opposition, Rilindja Demokratike Kombetare, which marked poor results in the elections of this Sunday.
