The representatives of the Macedonian parties LSDM, BDI, Besa, Alliance
for Albanians and PDSH, reached a key agreement with the Macedonian
Parliament Speaker, Talat Xhaferri, although the meeting was boycotted
by VMRO-DPMNE.
They have agreed for the proposition to amend the Electoral Code. The draft foresees new local elections this October. The mandate of current local government leaders will be extended until the next elections. Their term would have expired this Monday, May 15th, and the new elections were supposed to be held during this period, but they were postponed due to the political stalemate.
This stalemate force Xhaferi to gather the Parliamentary groups, since thousands of public administration employees were risking their payments.
