The Central Election Commission in Macedonia published the first results of the local elections, and it shows that the LSDM of Zoran Zaev has won 17 communes, Albanian DUI 17, Alliance for Albanians three, Besa Movement 1, PDH 1 and VMRO-DPMNE 2.
They still have to count votes in 35 communes, where they voted for runoffs.
The leader of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti, declared victory in most of communes of Albanian majority in Macedonia.
According to him, the DUI has triumphed in Tetovo, Struga, Cair, Dibra, Saraj, Pllasnica and Kercova.
As for Gostivar, Ahmeti said they are waiting for the final results, but he left to be understood that they had lost this commune.
The Alliance for Albanians and BESA declared victory in four communes, including Gostivar.
The leader of BESA, Bilall Kasami, declared that DUI has now turned into a branch of Zoran Zaev’s party, who now rules the majority of Albanians.
Zaev’s concern, on the other hand, was the VMRO-DPME. Zaev declared they have won almost in all communes, while Gruevski said they do not recognize the elections. He asked Gruevski’s party to stop causing problems and start recognizing the results.
As for the coalition of Ziadin Zela, Zaev said that the stance of the Social Democrats will not change. “It was his choice. We are here to work for the interest of all citizens, without making political distinctions”.
