The Macedonian Interior Ministry announced the arrest of seven people
suspected as the authors who beat the Albanian school children, an event
that shocked the Albanians and that brought the reaction of the
Albanian political factor in Macedonia and outside.
Minister Gordana Jankullovska declared that were arrested seven citizens 17-18 years old, who will stay in prison for 30 days.
The testimony of the Albanian citizens was about 20-30 masked people who blocked the bus doors and used violence against them. It remains unknown if there will be other arrest or if the Macedonian Police will leave it with that.
The brutal beating took place in the capital of Macedonia, Skopje, when 15 Albanian school children that were traveling with the bus of the Ciflik village were attacked by the masked agressors.
There were reactions from the Albanian opposition in Macedonia, from the Red and Black Alliance and the Socialist Party in Tirana, and also by the Albanian Foreign Ministry, two days later.
There were also reactions from the United States, with the US Department of State considering as the biggest cowards those who beat children, and appealed for calmness to be preserved and the authors to be punished according the law.
Ethnic incident in Macedonia
At least three ethnic incidents took place last night in Macedonia, two in Skopje and one in Tetovo, as informed by the MPB, without mentioning the identity of the people involved.
The Macedonian Interior Minister, Gordana Jankullovska, decalred in front of the Committee for Interethnic Relations that 25 incidents have been recorded in Macedonia, since the beginning of the year.
Speaking about the beating of the children, she said that some suspects have been interrogated, while the investigation process is continuing.
“40 persons of both genders have been attacked, 38 of whom have been injured. Most of the incidents have happened in urban buses near schools”, declared Nakullovkska, General Chief of Police.
The extraordinary meeting of the Committee for Interethnic Relations, summoned about the recent situation, followed with harsh debates. The PDSH MPs abandoned the room, dissatisfied with the work of the committee.
“There’s a total negligence from the majority, the Chairman of the Committee and especially the Minister, who didn’t see it reasonable to bring us detailed and written information. For this reason, the Parliamentary group and two PDSH members will abandon the work of the committee. We do not want to become part of the masquerade, the killings and wickedness against Albanains”, declared MP Orhan Ibrahimi.
“I am sorry that the PDSH misused today’s space and abused with the time of all MPs. Their MPs proved that they don’t want to be part of any masquerade. In fact, their behavior showed who the authors of the masquerade are, and who is really dedicated for the normalization of the situation”, declared MP Ermira Mehmeti, from the BDI.
The recent situation has been reviewed by the Main Albanian Parties in Macedonia. The BDI in government asked the entire factor to give its contribution for stopping this cycle of incidents that could destabilize the country.
The PDSH accused the government, saying that the Albanian Party in government has lost the legitimacy of the Albanians.
Thaci’s Party asked the Interior Minister, Gordana Jankullovska and her Deputy, Xhelal Bajrami to resign. This party asked Tirana, Prishtina and the international factor to not allow this situation.
SP: Violence against students, a criminal act
The Socialist Party of Albania condemned the attack against the Albanian students in Skopje, considering it a criminal and unacceptable act that should be seen as an alarm bell for all those who see the future of the region in Europe, rather then in the past of ethnic conflicts.
RBA: Macedonian terrorist groups to be arrested
The Red and Black Alliance, which today had its first anniversary of creation, asked the Albanian parties in the neighboring country to come together for this situation.
“The violence against the Albanian students is an ethnic provocation that should be condemned. We ask the arrest of the Macedonian terrorist groups”, RBA declared.
“Zgjohu”: Authors to be punished
The “Zgjohu” civil movement expressed its regret for this brutal event and offered its solidarity to the families of the victims, asking the authorities to punish the authors as soon as possible.
Macedonia, 15 Albanian students brutally beaten
A horrible event has taken place in the Macedonian Capital, Skopje, where 15 Albanian students have been brutally beaten.
20 masked persons entered a bus with 15 students and have beaten the Albanian children. 3 of them are in bad conditions, in hospital.
The beating took place this Wednesday, around noon.
The Interior Ministry of Macedonia has given no official reaction.
This comes after another episode of ethnic character in the neighboring country, when two Albanians were killed a few days ago, shot by the Macedonian police at the city of Gostivar, an event that brought the reaction of the Albanian population.
“Zgjohu” Movement reacts: Authors to be punished
Right after the brutal beating of 15 Albanian children in Macedonia by masked persons, the “Zgjohu Movement” has reacted with a declaration.
“We are shocked by the incident when 15 Albanian students were brutally beaten. We offer our solidarity with the families of the children, and demand a quick solution. The criminals that attack innocent and undefended students should be punished”, says the reaction of the Movement, underlining that the beating took place when the Albanians were celebrating the 125th anniversary of the first Albanian school.
