Lunacek: “Kosovo’s independence is irreversible. Reconciliation in EU for both countries”

Vice President of the European Parliament and Rapporteur for Kosovo,
Ulrike Lunacek, said that the perspective of Kosovo and Serbia is clear,
and that is reconciliation and EU integration for both countries.

“Normalizing relations means everything the parties have agreed to implement. Both parties are obliged to do this without having to wait for one another”, she said.

“Most of citizens and government members in Serbia know that Kosovo will never be part of their country, although several cabinet members are trying to ingnore the fact that the EU will not recognise a country, without clear definition of its borders, after Cyprus.

Lunacek says she is optimistic about the dialogue for normalizing relations, which, according to her, means recognition.
