Experts say the increased number of loans given from Albanian banks to
foreign businesses outside Albani is not good for the domestic economy,
although it may bring profits to the banks.
“The situation is paradoxal. We have no funds, no money. Not only the population, but also the bank. For one reason or another, not enough is generated within the economy. It is clear that something is not working”, says Elvin meka, professor in Finance.
In one year the Albanian Banks have given 28 billion ALL of loans outside Albania. For Arjan Kadare, professor of Finance, the capital exodus is related to the pessimistic expectancies that banks have for the future of our country.
“While the banking system takes measures and invests abroad, it shows they don’t foresee any improvement of the situation”, says Arjan Kadare, former member of the Supervisory Council at the Bank of Albania.
