Te Central Election Commission declared that the voting materials have been distributed throughout the country.
The Chairwoman of the CEC, Lefterie Lleshi, declared that this process has gone relatively well, but there have been obstacles by second level commissions that have not cooperated.
She reminded the commissioners that besides the civil responsibility, they also have penal responsibility if they don’t comply with their duties.
The Chairwoman appealed that regardless the fact that they are all appointed by political parties, they need to implement the law and every Albanian should have the right to express his will through the vote.
The CEC Chairwoman asked the Commissioners to refer to the Electoral Code, based on the fact that some Zonal Election Commissions have created obstacles to the media representatives.
“The media is free to do its job and should not be hampered”, she declared.
