Removing customs barriers between Albania and Kosovo has been among the main requests of Albanian producers in both sides of the borders.
The Union of Albanian Producers and the Producers Club in Kosovo had a joint meeting in which they discussed the problems commercial enterprises face in both countries.
Removing customs barriers between Albania and Kosovo, the scanning payment in Albania, the customs terminal payments in Kosovo, were some of the requests discussed in the meeting.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Fatmir Limaj, showed his support about these matters. He said that this is the time to give a good example since Kosovo will lead CEFTA this year, an organization with the purpose to facilitate the trade situation.
Limaj said that both governments of Kosovo and Albania have the duty to create a strong business partnership, focusing on tax removal and for creating a market that competes with others.
The Kosovo Minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, expressed his support for the initiative undertaken by the producers of Kosovo and Albania, underlining that the trade balance between must change for both countries.
According to the producers of Kosovo and Albania, the agreements reached so far between the respective governments have remained only on paper, and the implementation has not started yet.
