Lidington meets Berisha, discussing political situation

The Council of Ministers notifies in a press release that Lidington underlined that both parties must exert their constitutional, institutional and political responsibilities in the Parliament and other elected institutions, after the electoral process will be over.

Lidington declared that the cooperation between institutions, as a condition for fulfilling EU integration obligations, is a guarantee for a successful admission of Albania in EU.

Prime Minister Berisha expressed his determination for guaranteeing an equal and just counting process for every ballot of the Albanian citizens.

Berisha emphasized that the narrow result of the Tirana mayoral race was a very important and successful test for the proper functioning of the legal process, and also for the professionalism of the institutions mandated to give the final election certification.
