All Zonal Electoral Commissions are continuing the ballot count process.
Based on the current results, the left coalition of the Socialist
parties is leading in these elections.
The current results give the Albanian opposition 84 Parliament seats, a result that even the opposition leaders weren’t expecting, and that turns them into a Constitutional power in Parliament. Almost every Albanian district has the opposition leading, even the traditionally Democratic Party strongholds.
The most surprising result comes from Shkoder, with the opposition leading for the first time in this district. The Coalition led by the Socialist Party is leading almost in every other district, except for Kukes.
The result in Fier has the opposition far ahead with 11 Parliamentary seats, and the Democratic Party only five. In Gjirokaster the Democratic Party has received only one mandate.
The ballot count continues in Tirana, where the result favors the left coalition with 19 seats, and the DP with 13. The official participation level is 53.75%/
