The boycott of court hearings by lawyers who oppose the merger of at least 18 courts in the country, has not brought any reaction from the Supreme Judicial Council.
Despite the fact that it is a matter belonging to the executive and not the judiciary power, the Minister of Justice has clearly said that there will be no backward steps.
But the National Chamber of Advocacy has left two days to reflect, since the strike has been scheduled for Thursday at 11:00, when the lawyers will start the protest in front of the High Judicial Council.
Meanwhile, in the courts, apart from some “strike-breaking” lawyers who have appeared to provide personal detention measures, others come only for information.
On Wednesday, lawyers representing both the pro and anti-strike status will be present at the laws committee.
In all of Albania, there are two thousand lawyers with active licenses, and this boycott has been going on for weeks causing a paralysis of the judicial system.
