Last warnings for smoking in confined spaces

All private subjects and private institutions must be prepared to not
allow anyone consume tobacco in their closed premises. The new
anti-smoking law enters in effect on August 23rd, which for the first
time will fine smokers too.

The Head of the Health Inspectorate, Eltar Deda, explained that the work has already started for the inspectors.

“The law will be implemented from August 23rd. There will be no going back. All inspectorates will work to implement it. All businesses will be notified to place the punishing measures close to the “no smoking” sign”, Deda declared.

Chief Inspector Deda explains that the law will be followed by a promotional campagin, and subjects will be informed about the changes.

The Health Inspectorate will coordinate the work with all other inspectorates.

“We have prepared all inspectors and they are ready. We will start it with a promotional work that will oblige institutions to publish the antismoking logo on their websites. If someone will be caught, inspectorates will fine them”, Deda declared.

The new antismoking law has a 5000 ALL fine for smokers, 50.000 for managers and 300.000 for owners.
