Albanian Road Authority has staged an urgent meeting today after a tragic incident in Velipoja where 4 people died. Present in the meeting were also regional Road Authority chiefs, who were asked to take the required measures in order to minimize road accidents in the country.
But, Shkodra regional road authority chief said that funds were insufficient to put road signs, or reconstruct road infrastructure. One other major problem mentioned was the equipment with road lights that remain unsolved again for lack of finances. The road where the tragic accident happened is co-owned by Road Authority and Shkodra Municipality.
