The Kurbin Prosecution declared that the murder case of a Socialist
Movement for Integration supporter on the Election Day, and the wounding
of a Democratic Party candidate, should go to the Prosecution of
Serious Crimes in the Albanian capital.
According to a credible source for Top Channel, the case is being investigated by the Serious Crimes because the victim, Gjon Gjoni, doesn’t have the special qualities as the wounded victims: Mhill Fufi, candidate for the Democratic Party, and his cousin, Kastriot Fufi.
This decision was taken due to the difficulties that Lac as a town can pose to the investigation of this crime.
Based on these reasons, the Prosecution has withdrawn from the investigation considering it a very hot area, and sent it to the Court of Serious Crimes.
Gjon Gjoni was killed at the Shtjefen Gjecovi school on June 23rd, the Elections Day, while Mhill Fufi and Kastriot Fufi were seriously wounded.
The Lezhe Police District declared that the murder took place for electoral reasons. Police experts say that they gathered 15 shells of different sizes and that they are looking for Kastriot Fufi and the victim’s brother in law, Enver Curri. None of the authors has been captured so far.
