29/06/2013 00:00

One worker died in the Kurum Metallurgy, Elbasan, after the explosion of a grenade from a pile of scrap metal.

The 35-year-old Gjergji Boduri was a worker in this company, and was picking materials with a winch when the grenade blew up.

The 35-year-old died immediately and an investigation team is working for finding the cause of the explosion that took the life of the 35-year-old worker.

Although the site has been separated only for the collection of scrap metal, accidents of this kind have not been rare, due to the lack of equipments that control metal materials.

Police is working for finding if there are other explosive materials and if the worker was ensured.

The Turkish company has not allowed the media to follow this tragedy in their premises. Kurum was using materials that apparently have come from old army depots.

The grenade could have killed even more people if it had exploded at the melting kilns.
