The residents of the Topojan village have protested against the construction of several hydropower plants in the Reka River.
The residents say the plants will destroy the pastures and tourist area.
“The people are protesting against the policies of thieves who go against international rules and deviate rivers and ecosystems. No one should dare build a hydropower plant in this area. We are determined to protect it with our lives”, residents say.
The area where the hydropower plants will be built includes the natural ecosystem of Korab, Koritnik, Shishtavec and Novosej.
