After finishing the recount of 15 ballot boxes in Kukes, opened by the
Socialist Movement for Integration, the Electoral College rejected
another request of this party for declaring two of the boxes invalid.
The legal representative of the Socialist Movement for Integration claimed that there had been irregularities in Kukes. According to them, the third mandate in this district belonged to them.
But with the verdict of the Electoral College, the Parliamentary seat remains to the right coalition, which now ha 3 of 4 in total, and the left coalition only one.
The Democratic Party legal representative gave a press release and declared that the Electoral College took the right decision.
“It was a positive decision. I am happy for what has been decided. We noted that all of the Smi claims were unfounded. We are happy for this position that we held during the entire process”, Kaso declared.
The legal representative of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilirian Muho, reacted and declared that they will not give up from their claims and will continue their battle.
“On the video evidence we noted that there were ballots with marks on it. The College decided to count the ballots, but some of them were missing and some had marks on them”, Muho declared.
He added that for the moment he cannot say when these ballot were changed, but he underlined that chances are that this happened during the ballot count in Kukes or when they were being preserved in the depots.
“For as long that the material of the Central Election Commission is different and the ballots are marked, we suspect that there have been irregularities and the identity of these boxes has been damaged. However, it doesn’t end here”, Muho declared.
