Kukes Municipal Council members protest highway toll fee

The Kukes Municipal Council has asked the government to cancel the 5 Euros toll fee for the Durres-Kukes highway, as they invite citizens in a peaceful protest.

The Chairman of the Democratic Party councilor group at the Kukes Municipality said that they contacted the Prime Minister and the Parliament, but received no answer. Hence, they invite citizens in a peaceful protest against the tax.

Tatjana Kergjaliu, from the left wing councilors, said that they would visit the Prefect to get updated about their answers.

Members of the civil society also protest, saying that the payment will now increase their transportation fares with private companies, which is already expensive.
