The European Parliament Members, Kukan and Fleckenstein, asked the
Albanian politics to end the crisis and pass the judiciary reform.

Kukan invites parties to vote the Vetting Law, while Fleckenstein is more skeptical.

“Pass the judiciary reform. It will bring a better democratic situation”, Kukan said.

“The voting of the Vetting may be postponed today, but not for much longer”, Fleckenstein said.

Both have an appeal for the opposition.

“We have encouraged the opposition to vote the Vetting Law in all levels, but it has not functioned. We told MR.Basha that we will support him if he starts the dialogue with the majority. Boycott of elections is not the reight way. It is necessary to show that you are politically strong in these elections. Boycott or abstention serves to nobody”, Kukan said.

“If you have been elected and if you don’t go to do your job, you get fired. If you are a Parliament Member, you can do whatever you want, but you have to do your job. You have to be at your workplace, in Parliament. Especially to vote the Vetting Law. I don’t know any European MP who can support boycott”, Fleckenstein said.

Kukan and Fleckenstein have a solution for the crisis.

Kukan: “If I could, I would close PM Rama, Speaker Meta and opposition leader Basha inside a room until they find a solution to the political crisis”.

“I would be ready to help as a negotiator between Rama and Basha, but with one condition: not as a façade, like children who are taken by their hands. They need political will”, Fleckenstein underlined.
