Kucove, oil pollution

Some of them have chosen to build houses near the state-owned oil company. In Kucove there operates only one state owned enterprise, “Albetrol”. Due to the great social problems in this area, no private company has ever taken it under control. A great part of these wells do not work anymore, but there where the wells are functional, problems are very considerable.

Concerned residents say that they have returned from emigration to invest in their town, but everything seems useless. The greatest problem is the air pollution by gas and oil.

The destroyed wells and oil spills have deteriorated the life quality of these residents, who are asking the Albanian state to protect them from the state-owned enterprise.
